PLASTICS continues to successfully connect elected officials with our member companies among their constituencies, increasing awareness of the contributions our industry makes in their districts and communities.
Recently, State Senator John Velis of Massachusetts toured Placon’s facility in West Springfield, Massachusetts, hosted by General Manager, Brian Witkowski. They discussed a wide range of legislative and plastics issues, with Senator Velis sharing his commitment to being an advocate for the industry and the facility in his district.
In New Jersey, State Senator Vin Gopal visited Mazza Recycling Services for a tour of Mazza's recycling center and operations, showcasing the dedicated work of their employees. Danielle Fortunato, Director of State Affairs, attended both visits, highlighting PLASTICS state legislative priorities.
PLASTICS is committed to collaborating with state and federal elected officials, and works to facilitate site visits with our member companies nationwide. The more policymakers know about the presence and significance of our member companies in their districts, the better informed they will be when considering legislation or regulations affecting our industry and employees.
For assistance in arranging a legislative visit for your facility, please contact Pearce Crosland, PLASTICS' Director of Government Affairs.

"You get to help people come together, reach agreement and ultimately [ideally] make a difference. Working in plastics in particular is great because the industry is in such an important time right now, facing a lot of pressure and new expectations. This requires innovation, not just of new materials, but also new businesses, products and services."
