On April 26, the PLASTICS Board of Directors voted to promote Matt Seaholm and Glenn Anderson, our VPs of Government Affairs and Member Engagement, to the roles of CEO and COO. In announcing the appointments, Board of Directors Chair Tad McGwire said, “We are incredibly excited to elevate these gentlemen to lead this organization into the future.”
About Seaholm’s appointment, McGwire said, “In making Matt our next CEO, the board is indicating how important advocacy and communications are for the plastics industry right now and the role we expect PLASTICS to play as a voice for its member companies.”
Addressing Anderson’s new role, McGwire added, “Glenn’s promotion to COO reflects his managerial experience and institutional knowledge. He will be integral to the growth of the association, the success of NPE, and a highly effective member engagement strategy.”

PLASTICS members enjoyed three great days at the 2022 Spring National Meeting and Conference, held at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago, May 24 through 26.
In addition to taking care of important council and committee business and enjoying plenty of time to socialize and renew pandemic-interrupted relationships, attendees heard engaging, informative presentations by an array of excellent speakers from inside and outside the association.
That included opportunities to hear from Matt Seaholm and Glenn Anderson, our new CEO and COO, and Patrick Krieger, our recently appointed Vice President of Sustainability.
While members were in Chicago recently for the PLASTICS Spring National Meeting and Conference, the Plastics Hall of Fame Ceremony for 2021 inductees and 2020 posthumous inductees took place. With the event having been delayed due to COVID concerns, inductees, their families, friends and colleagues were glad to finally have an opportunity to celebrate the careers of some exceptional people.
