📊 Plastics Demand Holds Steady in April

The latest Plastics Demand Estimate is in: U.S. plastics demand reached $22.7 billion in April 2025, marking a modest 0.2% increase month-over-month and 0.4% year-over-year.

 

While nominal demand rose, inflation-adjusted figures dipped 0.1% from both the previous month and April 2024—suggesting producer prices are holding steady, with little real growth.

 

Why it matters:
This data offers valuable insight into market stability and helps processors and suppliers track demand shifts across the plastics supply chain.

On Friday, August 8, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM ET, PLASTICS’ Future Leaders in Plastics (FLiP) initiative will host its next Book Club session, featuring A Conversation on Recycling—a curated series of short TED Talks focused on innovative ideas for advancing sustainability and improving recycling systems.
