Promoting Collaboration Between Government and Industry
PLASTICS Government Affairs team was in Louisville, Kentucky, this week for Legislative Summit 2024, hosted by the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL). Our Association offered attendees the industry perspective on various plastics-related issues with an emphasis on promoting the importance of plastics recycling nationwide, making sure attendees learn about our Recycling is Real initiative.
RealClear Energy has published an op-ed by PLASTICS' VP of Government Affairs, Jason Eberstein. The piece addressed the potential of NCSL's Legislative Summit as a catalyst for collaboration between the public and private sectors towards increased recycling rates, and efforts to keep plastic out of the environment and in the economy. Jason wrote that it is important to "seize opportunities to solve the environmental challenges we face and address the need for recycling infrastructure as it offers a promising area for bipartisan agreement and cooperative action.” Read the entire op-ed here.
Staying Connected in the U.S. Congress
Matt Seaholm, PLASTICS CEO, and Jason Eberstein, VP of Government Affairs recently visited with Congresswoman Haley Stevens of Michigan. The meeting included a focus on the significance of recycling and circularity in the plastics industry. PLASTICS appreciates Congresswoman Stevens' consistent efforts to promote manufacturing interests on Capitol Hill.
