Re|focus: Reimagined and a Huge Hit with Attendees

PLASTICS hosted “Re|focus: Plastics Recycling and Sustainability” in Minneapolis, Minnesota during the first week of May. Re|focus was an opportunity for leaders in the plastics industry to come together to move beyond the “why” of sustainability to the “how” of carrying it out.

Dr. Rachel Meidl—Distinguished Fellow, Energy & Environment at Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy—offered a kick-off keynote on sustainability as a holistic endeavor, reaching beyond carbon concerns to encompass such things as natural resource stewardship, worker health and safety, energy, and maintaining profitable businesses.

Also present was a focus by equipment suppliers on creating technologies to aid in sustainability challenges, including examples like devices intended to reclaim lost resin from waterways and within rough terrain.

As with all PLASTICS events, Re|focus was packed with great content and plenty of opportunities for professional networking. This year’s Re|focus took attendee interaction to a new level with the inclusion of several well-received industry-themed games. Thanks to all who were able to join us!
