On Thursday, September 14, PLASTICS President and CEO, Matt Seaholm held an online press conference announcing the launch of Recycling is Real—a PLASTICS initiative designed to put an end to false narratives claiming recycling doesn't happen or is a "myth." Recycling has come under attack from those who wish to reduce or eliminate the production of plastic.
The Recycling is Real campaign provides content to help elected officials and policymakers understand that recycling is a vital link in the sustainability and circularity chain, enabling them to make more well-informed decisions about recycling resources for their constituents.
Using high-quality videos, Recycling is Real shows viewers how recycling happens, where it happens, and introduces the people who make it happen. Four videos were released with the launch of the campaign, and new videos will be released on a regular basis at the Recycling is Real website.
Please look for Recycling is Real social media posts on Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter/X and Instagram and share them from both your company and personal social media handles, using the #RecyclingisReal hashtag.
